Blessed with a natural ability in the design and fabrication disciplines, and briefly schooled at the Philadelphia College of Art, his creative instincts soon led him into developing aluminum replacements for existing crown molding that replicated the curves found in the wood. Since 1979, Roy has designed, developed, and is currently working to market custom colonial crown moulding products to the building industry.

From the beginning of his career, and especially since 1984, Roy has gained the respect of his peers to the extent that he is considered a leading expert in the idea of custom long lengths Crown Moulding Market, custom colonial crown molding market. Roy, and his unique style of producing custom colonial crown moulding, have been featured in various articles such as "The Metal Cornice" by Alan G. Levy FIFA - (Center for Environmental Design and Planning) Graduate School of Fine Arts - University of Pennsylvania, and trade publications such as Roofing, Siding, & Installation magazine. He has also been highlighted in various newspaper and video media in the U.S. and Canada.
